For questions about this policy or your personal information, email contact@sylbray.com.

Information you provide

When you contact us, we receive your name, email address, message, and any optional phone number or other information you choose to provide. Name, email, and message are required to submit the Contact form. We use this information to respond to your request, provide product support, and maintain relevant correspondence. Please do not include payment details or sensitive personal information in your message.

If you email us a library location, photograph, or story, we use it to review your contribution and contact you about it. We seek your permission before publishing identifying information or photographs. Please do not send private addresses or photographs of other people without appropriate permission.

SYLBRAY Field Notes is not currently accepting subscriptions through this website. We will update this policy and provide subscription and unsubscribe information before activating newsletter collection.

Website operation and service providers

Our hosting and email service providers include Namecheap and Proton. They process information needed to operate the website and handle correspondence. Hosting and security systems may record technical information such as IP addresses, request times, browser information, and requested pages to keep the site functioning, prevent abuse, and investigate errors.

The Contact form uses WordPress and WPForms. Information submitted through the form is handled by our website and email systems so we can respond to you.

We use personal information to answer requests, provide support, maintain website security, and meet applicable legal obligations. Where relevant data protection law applies, the basis is our legitimate interest in handling inquiries and operating a secure website, steps requested before entering a contract or performance of a contract where applicable, and compliance with legal obligations.

Analytics, cookies, and embedded services

Google Analytics and advertising measurement are disabled on this website at launch. We do not use them to measure your visits. We will update this policy and implement the required controls before enabling optional analytics.

Videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player. Loading a page containing an embedded video, or playing that video, can connect your browser to Google/YouTube, which may process technical information. Privacy-enhanced mode does not mean that no information is sent to Google. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

Our Library Map uses OpenStreetMap map tiles. Loading the map sends requests, including technical information such as your IP address, to the map service. The map does not request your device’s precise location. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.

Cookies or similar technologies may be used for site operation, security, administration, and the embedded services you access. Your browser can manage or delete cookies. Blocking cookies may affect some services. Browser settings do not replace any consent choices that applicable law requires the website to provide.

External links and international processing

Amazon purchase and review links take you to Amazon. Information you provide there is governed by Amazon’s policies. Other linked services also have their own privacy practices.

We are based in the United States. Information may be processed there and in countries where our hosting, email, and embedded-service providers operate. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, those requirements apply to the relevant processing.

Retention and your choices

We retain inquiry information for the period reasonably needed to address the request, provide relevant support, resolve disputes, and comply with applicable obligations. Security records are retained according to operational and security needs. The appropriate period depends on the purpose and the nature of the record.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email contact@sylbray.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity. Where applicable, you may also complain to your data protection authority.

We will update this policy when our practices change and revise the date shown above.
